Agenda
고양이 실버타운은 활동성이 낮은 노령묘를 위한 공간으로, 인형의 집처럼 아늑하고 따뜻한 분위기를 컨셉으로 기획하였다. 기존의 캣타워나 켓하우스는 활동적인 고양이를 위한 설계가 대부분이지만, 노령묘는 관절염과 질병으로 움직임이 제한되기 때문에 변화가 적고 안정감 있는 환경이 필요하다. 층간 이동은 부드럽게 이어진 연결형 계단을 통해 점프 없이 가능하도록 하였고, 무리 없는 운동을 위해 고양이가 자발적으로 사용할 수 있는 캣휠을 배치하였다. 햇볕이 잘 드는 2층과 3층에는 일광욕이 가능한 따뜻한 휴식 공간을, 1층에는 벽으로 둘러싸인 아늑한 쉼터를 마련하였다. 장난감 대신 1층부터 3층까지 이어진 대형 어항을 설치해 고양이가 모든 층에서 물고기를 보며 안정적으로 놀 수 있도록 했으며, 색채 변화에 민감한 고양이의 시각적 흥미를 고려해 벽면에 색상 대비를 주었다. 고양이 실버타운은 노령묘의 신체적·심리적 특성을 배려하여 무리 없이 즐겁고 편안한 노년을 보낼 수 있도록 설계된 공간이다.
Cat’s Silver Town is a space designed for elderly cats with low activity levels, inspired by the cozy and warm atmosphere of a dollhouse. While most cat towers and cat houses are designed for active cats, senior cats often suffer from arthritis and other illnesses that limit their movement, making a stable and low-stimulation environment essential. To accommodate this, gently connected staircases were installed to allow movement between floors without the need for jumping, and a cat wheel was added to provide light exercise that cats can engage in voluntarily. Warm resting areas with plenty of sunlight were placed on the second and third floors to allow for sunbathing and natural temperature regulation, while the first floor features a cozy shelter enclosed by walls for added comfort. Instead of toys, a large vertical fish tank stretching from the first to the third floor offers visual stimulation, allowing cats to safely enjoy watching the fish from any level. In addition, the walls were designed with contrasting colors to stimulate cats’ visual interest, as they are sensitive to changes in color and contrast despite being partially colorblind. Cat Silver Town is a thoughtfully designed space that considers the physical and emotional needs of senior cats, providing them with a comfortable and joyful environment in which to enjoy their later years.
